Hi, i am trying to flash my 5100 and i have downloaded the software on to my laptop, but keeping getting an error msg ' No available COM port'. Its using COM port 10 and i have tried changing the ports through Device Manager but its only showing me a port 10???
I am doing something wrong or is there any other way of me doing this??

in properties have you clicked on port settings and then advanced in that box in that you will see the port number with a drop down box. if any of the ports 1-4 are free click on one of them to change the port number.

There are separate firmwares for Ex5000 and 5100.Ensure you use the correct one for your box.

hi can you help down loaded all firmware everything all went very well ,only thing now put box in to my friends house and now tels me no signal bad signal ???? do not get to view any channels not even stv or four ???thanks

Your friend may be in a different area and therefore have a different frequency.

Check all your cable connections, that is from the outside as well as inside the house and your box. You must have live feed from the cable provider otherwise you will keep getting the message NO Signal.
