    Eurovox interfering with internet?

    Hi

Bit of a weird one this. I have a Eurovox and have disconnected my v**gin media box to allow the eurovox to pick up channels. However, about 2 days ago my internet went down. I called VM who said they would send a technician around. He is due today so I have just taken the Eurovox out for obvious reasons and my internet is running fine!

Is the Eurovox interfering with my internet? If so how can I solve that?

Let the engineer come out and tell him its an intermittent fault and is worse in the evening. He may move your position in the cab and boost your signal.

I'm in the North west and have had no problems at all, even when I was greedy and had 2 Eurovox's on the go, so maybe it is an internet problem
Footballers spend 90 minutes pretending their injured. RUGBY PLAYERS SPEND 80 MINUTES PRETENDING THEIR NOT!

          Thanks for your reply

HiTec I will tell him that and see what he can do. Obviously I have plugged the vVirgin box back in now incase I get a jobsworth. Its solved the problem straight away. Maybe just coincidence and not the Eurovox. My girls nan has a Eurovox and is on virgin and her internet is fine.

does your set up have a splitter after the isolator then eurovox on 1 feed and modem on the other, or is ther an isolator at both points ?

From the point on the wall it has a splitter with a feed to the eurovox and a feed to the modem.

I have just plugged the box back in in place of the vgin box and the internet hasnt packed in but has gone really really slow.

It could be some hefty noise introduced onto the line from the eurovox and because the modem and box have no isolation from each other its causing the modem to have problems staying connected. Ive seen that before the solution to that would be to put the splitter before the isolator and try and get another isolator and fit that before the modem. Perhaps the engineer will do this for you as thats the proper set up each point should have its own isolator.

Its definately this. It took me 45 mins to load a webpage up. Ive just turned my Eurovox off and its taken about 20 seconds to load this page up!

What is an isolator? Are they cheap? Can I do that myself? Is there anyway of not using an isolator?

If I dont get an engineer who is sound then I cant exactly ask him to do favours.

The people at Maplins have said that they usually find a Splitter will do the job. Any ideas?

your already using a splitter though, you'll get an isolator off an installer for a couple of quid and ask him to make you an f to f patch lead as well as the bedroom point will fit into the isolator and you'll need a patch lead to run from that to your box/modem
