Ah, now I get it! Are there different types of isolator? Do I need a specific one.
I did think he meant put an isolator between the splitter and the modem but needed clarification.
Think you may do us tomorrow HiTeck. Im a blue mate.

OK so do I need any sort of isolator or a specific one? Also, do I need two of them?

just the type installers use offer 1 a fiver and he'll snap your hand off, you only need 1 as you have 1 at main point already.

Great stuff. Now I need to log a call and get a technician out. Or, I might pass one on the street!

So Ill only need to put one between the splitter and the modem?

that should be fine, i personally would fit the splitter before the first isolator so that you have it the way of the diagram.

Hi guys, its been so long since I posted as I have only managed to track a VM tech TODAY ... on his dinner!

He gave me one isolator he had spare and it is bigger than a splitter! I have also recently checked the cable feed from the ground into the house.. it has no isolator. This is the first isolator to be installed in our house. Should I still but it between splitter and modem?

Also, I have split the feed myself outside so that we can have the eurovox downstairs and the vbox upstairs. Would this slow down the internet at all?

                  Thanks.

He has given me an isolator with 2 female ends. How will this fit my splitter which has 3 female connections? Female to female dont go

To fit the isolator between the splitter and modem you will need another short length of cable between the splitter and isolator.
