There is another possibility.... if ISP's can monitor who is downloading music, moves etc via P2P then Vermin monitoring which of there subscribers uses forums like this must be a piece of cake. It doesn't prove you have an illegal box however!

Hi All, Im Zemme from DVBJunkieUK. One of my customers just pointed out this thread to me.

We have not provided any customer information to any 3rd parties like VM or PayPal.

I have spoken to many traders who have been raided in the past. VM can only request customer information from PayPal if they are able to furnish a police search warrant to disclose data. This is usually done following an arrest

VM have been handed Cleverbase & Cableboxshop customer details by PayPal. Cleverbase & Cableboxshop did not really do anything to protect there customers details, e.g. when you as a customer purchased from them, Eurovox or Starview was actually listed in the PayPal transaction.

DVB Junkie UK does not pass any order details to PayPal. The only thing that is passed onto PayPal is an order number, thats it, nothing else. No product details are passed on to PayPal, so there is no way for VM to prove what the customer has purchased from us.

          Hope this reassures you.

          Best Regards

          Zemme

I do believe that the paypal shopping cart holds the name of the product you're buying...not sure how it works through your website though...

Really people, lets think with a clear head here.
We've all seen the "fly on the wall" police tv shows - they know drug dealers sell from house x y or z, they know the dealers names, they know whats going in and out, and yet it is almost impossible to get a warrant unless there is (in the judges eyes, or procurator fiscals eyes in scotland) reasonable chance of a sucessefull raid. I mean jesus - everyone and their dog knows whats going on and the police cant to sh*t, so, do you REALLY see the police obtaining a search warrant to enter your house because you MIGHT be watching a few tv channels for free?!!!
Even if the police turned up at your door (highly unlikely) and ask to come in, no warrant = ta ta plod. End of.
Sleep easy everyone - I have as much chance of winning the lottery as virgin have of getting a judge to ok a warrrant to raid Mr Pensioner watching Sky 1 for free......

If you are using a PayPal shopping cart on your website, then the products details are passed on to the PayPal.

We dont use the PayPal shopping cart.

I remember many years ago when i used to buy movies and ps2 backup games from a guy called Angel. He used to use the PayPal shopping cart BUT had each backup labelled as shampoo, soap, washing up liquid etc.

                Regards - Zemme

I paid for my eurovox using Payp*l Its shows what you bought:
Eurovox EX5100 PVR FTA Cable Receiver Box + 120GB Hard Drive
                      Item Number EX5100 ?129.99 GBPAmount ?129.99 GBP
Have they got a responsibility to pass my details on to anyone? I know if you buy a tv in any high street shop they pass your name and address on to TV licensing. Is that the same for cable? wish I'd not used PPal...
