Bought a eurovox ex 5000 pvr yesterday and i have put the software on it from a link of this site searched all me channels its found them all an constantly tellin me code being updated please wait. dnt kno if i have to change the frequency codes or nothin am from liverpool L9 can anyone please help me get this workin been tryin for 2 days an read through alot of topics on this site an cant figure it out startin to stress me out now. Press menu,language( i think) then press 1968 twice and turn the emu on then press ok on default key then exit out check fta (bbc1,itv,etc) is working then switch to a sly channel and wait.Comment

Have you turned your emu on if not then Press menu - Press OK - type 1968 on remote and enable emulation if it is off if so then turn on then put on sly sports 1.

What firmware have you on your box?
Flash your firmware again and see if that sorts it out.Comment

If you have turned the emu on unplug from the mains then plug it back in put it on a sly channel and wait at least 5 mins dont change channelComment

thats the firmware on it mate bought the box yesterday and put that on it i have flashed it twice still same problems sayin updating code please wait no changeComment

Rite when i am trying to flash my box again an i have downloaded the software when i click download it opens a box to choose eitha com1 com2 com 3 or com 4, when i click start its just freezing on waiting for respone of your reciever. can anyone please help me get this box goin its doin me head in 3 days now an i havent had no look at all, ThanksComment

Try this m8 to find which com your Eurovox is connected to either using null modem or usb to null,
Problems with your PC/Laptop not recognising your eurovox.
To see which port your USB adapter is connected to, connect your USB adapter and follow the following instructions:
1. Go to the Start Menu
2. Right click on "My Computer"
3. Select "Properties"
4. Click on the "Hardware" tab
5. Click on "Device Manager"
6. Click the + sign next to "Ports (COM & LPT)"
7. One of the listed ports should indicate which port your USB adapter is connected to (e.g. COM1, COM2, COM3, etc.)
8. Go back to your map software program that you use to transfer data and make sure it is looking at the correct port.
9. You should be able to transfer data once the correct port is selected

Follow my advice to step 7. Locate your USB Adapter (port *)
Right click on that port and select properties. Then select port settings, then select advanced. At the bottom of that tab will be a drop down box with the port selected (port * in your case). Use the drop down to select another port (eg 1, 2 or 3). If the port you want to use is already allocated to something else, you can use the same procedure to reassign that port after you have finished.
Save the selections in the usual way. The USB converter will be permanently assigned to the port you selected.
