Eurovox 5100 pvr set up

hi there im new to the site and have just switched on my eurovox 5100pvr.....im just doing a scan waiting to see what channels i get. can someone please put me on the right tracks about flashing my box and the latest firmware i might need please, thanyou

you must be scanning the wrong symbol rate try 6887 if you dont get any channels change it to 6952

Hi hope people are getting sorted. Have got as far as i have thanks to this site. Well, had a 5100 lying around since Xmas, bought for my son, but he never bothered with it, bit of a technical Grannie myself. Been having a bash today and have scanned for channels, nearly 400 came up, but most are scrambled. Tried the 1968 on language settings, but nothing happens, so i believe its not flashed. Now confused. Have I downloaded old firmware and how do i get the latest, i have 1.0 ST4 Jan 06 2009. Determined to get this going tonight, as my son is laughing at my attempts. Any help appreciated. I think im nearly there - doing this off a laptop by the way

that is the latest firmware the problem is the n3 encryption that is being implemented all over the country which makes all cable boxes useless as there is no fix any watch able premium channels you have left will become scrambled.

Thank you for replying. Well, i have not been able to flash the box, but i can get loads of channels, scrambled - think it needs the new software. At the moment it is saying that it is waiting for the response of my receiver. The eurovox says play on the front of it. Should i just wait - its been half an hour so far

The firmware process should only take a couple of minutes to complete.(on display should say dnld)
Try again with the box power turned off and when message appears, switch power on.
Also make sure you have selected the correct COM port.
(com port 1 usually works)
If you are using a USB adaptor and RS232 cable, make sure the drivers are up to date.
