Have you made the partition active ?

yes it is active, this is realy doing my head in now still a good box though : my pen drive works fine but thats only 256mb thanks for the reply

just thought i would double check ! partition is active and is fat32 rebooted box just to make sure and hdd lights flash a few times so checked box and still saying usb drive not attached MY HEAD HURTS
