    Problems with my EX1000SL

Sorry about this, i've been trying for five hours to get my new Eurovox EX1000SL up and running without success. Bought the USB adapter and Null modem cable but just keep getting No available COM PORT. I've tried the advice about going into the device manager but there are no "ports" in the options to select from if that makes sense? Any help appreciated.

Yes I looked there but as I said I can't get an option of which port in my device manager. It simply isn't there.

i pressume it's a USB>serial adaptor as your PC has no onboard COM port.

When you plug it in, does it make that 'USB Device connected' sound? on XP it's like a door bell

does anything pop up in the system tray? (down by the clock in the bottom right hand corner) like a "installing new hardware" box or anything?

No nothing there just Autoplay box opens in the centre of screen. I'm sure that it installed automatically when I first put disc in.

Been trying since 11oclock and still no luck. I have down loaded the ufl and it will not open so i can down load the eurovox. Didnt think it would be so hard.
