ESPN Problems

Hi Simon, yeah, originally i turned off the autosort, but deep scan over-rides that, so i have had to look at every single untagged channel, ie the ones that only say TV1 TV2 etc etc, but as yet it is still unfound...i know its broadcasting a signal as i have been told earlier that an FC Ajax match was being shown.

still no luck guys, is anyone in West Mids area using VM on code 5a 01 (6.952) getting a problem. Or can someone go into thier settings and find out for sure the frequency of the channel so i can manually input the info and scan please?

Hi, in w.mids also.
first off i updated channels and found all new 3spn but the pic started breaking so i did a deep scan and now only get America and HD.
I noticed tho the scan seemed to miss some of the old frequencies/bouquets (not sure what they're called) that were listed before

In the meantime if anyone does happen to know the frequency for ESPN in the W.Mids 5a 01 that would be much appreciated.

355.000 espn on vm but thats on 6.887

Right, i have managed to find them again. They are on 227.000 and 228.000.
As before i lost them tho the picture is shite and keeps breaking. i tried removing the splitter which takes the signal up 3 to 81% but still no good.
Can anyone in the w.mids check their frequency please incase they are on a different one also.

Update.....

In this instance this is not a eurovox problem (or doesnt appear to be). I have re-installed my original (legitimate) VBox and it wont show on thier either. To cut a long story short my Vbox has reported an error code, which i then phoned through to customer services, who couldnt fix on talkback, therefor an engineer is calling on Thursday to check it out. I will get back to you guys with the results if anyone is interested but it seems i was alone in this problem and is not a Eurovox issue.

I have a Eurovox PVR and can get ESPN America but none of the other Espn channels. I dont wnt to miss the start of the footy. I am in Ireland and am wondering can anybody tell me the frequencies for Espn.

I take it you have done the reset/rescan routine?

If not, do that 1st, then come back later for more advice if you need it. Personally i cant help with the Ireland frequencies but i am sure someone else can.

espn is free to all vermin customers in august so you'll be able to watch the games that are on then on your cable box!!

Hi AndyStar - I seem to be having the exact same problems as you.

Have never had to do anything other than autoscan or powerscan to get the channels i wanted before, however neiither of these works for ESPN. Also on VM and also in WMids.

Have you resolved your problem now?

Problem resolved yesterday (Sat 15th Aug).
Engineer quoted problem as being in the Cabinet at the end of the street. Very weak signal. He said i was the longest cablerun in the box and i was coming from the "top plate" which apparently should be the strongest signal. The box should have been issuing decibels in the high 20,s so that when it got to my house i should have atleast 8 or 9 dbs, which is not ideal but would give a picture.

Truth was the box was only sending 9dbs itself so the signal was virtually unreadable when it got to my house.

Anyway the Cabinet guy came later same day (after the footy though) and tweeked the box, hey presto ESPN straight away. Mind you they do have to come out again on Monday coz between the two engineers they have buggered the phone up...typical .

As a bonus, my BBC 3 & 4 now have a working epg where they didnt have before, and i have another 4 channels added to my list.

(edit) The correct Freq for ESPN & ESPN Classic using VM in WMids on 6.952 is 227.000mhz

Ha - i don't get BBC 3 or 4 either!

I'm using a Eurovox Max box. I don't really know how to do anything other than auto and power scan - could you tell me/point me in the direction of instructions on how to enter manual frequency's?

Thinking if i can have a crack at that, then if it's still not working i can get the engineers out.

Sky Sports 1 on the blink at the minute as well, have just ordered an attenuator based on advice elsewhere on this (fantastic) forum. Let's hope that doest the trick?
