Sly Sports 1 pixelating !!

Hi Everyone...

Wondering if anyone else hit the same prob and got a remedy !! Using Eurovox EX1000SL.

Done a factory reset then a deep scan and the only channel that seems to have problem is Sly Sports 1 (2,3 and xtra all fine).The picture is there but is pixelating very badly and really unwatchable,I was hoping to sort before footy season is upon us !!
Tried doing a manual scan on this channel only but never got a decent picture before losing all together(off the frequency). In Midlands.

Any advice would be appreciated !!

This is caused by too strong a signal.

Get an attenuator and this allows you to vary the signal strength.

0-10db gain.

I have used this in the past to solve the problem.

I can see them on ebay 0-20db for about ?6-7..I'll invest in one


At what point do you attach,before splitter or after...

hi i am havng a similar problem but it is sky sports 2 an sky 1 that is pixilating and making a horrible sound. I am new to all this and would be greatful if somebody could help me

read above your post mate cgscott's post or the opposite weak signal try a booster make sure no splitters direct feed

i just checked the singnal strengh is between 82 and 84% this does not seem to alter when its pixelating so is the problem more likely due to the fact it am running a spliter?

Remove the splitter and connect box direct to cable also check/change the scart cable if picture/sound bad.

will try that later mate just seems a little strange why its only affecting 2 of the channels or is this sort of thing quite common?

If you have splitters on line, this is one of the causes of signal problem. Have u tried a new scan?
If not, then when u remove the splitter, do a clear data/factory reset and do a deep scan, hopefuly this will resolve your problem.

thanks for your help i will try doing this as have tried the updating channels scan and it stays the same i hope i can sort itt as the community sheild is on sky sports 2 an i want to see it

i have disconnected it from my sliptr however the signal is still split at the wall my the splitter fitted by virgin to separate the internet an tv feeds so that splitter can't be removed just hopig taking it out of the other will be enough

Attenuator arrived from Ebay...connected and adjusted the strength and it's sorted.

This is a common problem.

Small price to pay for a fix.

how much are these attenuators and how do i use one when i have it. i really need to try and find the fi to this problem

Attenuators only good upto a point, you are in an area the will be on switchover to digital, virgin upgrading for the past 18 months Ive had it a long time but getting better now its nearly complete. 1-20db B&Q ?6.99 drop it to 72%. I suspect something big is going to hit.
