How many channels shoudl I have roughly, i.e if I have 54 channels is it worth doing a deep scan?

Can I just press menu and find skysports? - Why do I do that by the way?

Yes, flick through the channels and see if any pay channels are viewable.
S*y sports 1 seems to have a stronge signal, so should come through quite quick.

you will have to let us know where you are so we know you are scanning the correct symbol rate you should get a lot more then 54 channels

i cant find the sy rate for your area but try 6887 or 6952 there is also 6875 you can try them all thay wont harm your box ,b4 you do that try another firmware 1/12/08 is in downloads

not to sure about your 1000 box but on the 5000 the emu is found by pressing menu lag settings ok then type 1968 and it's the btm option and yes flash with the 1/12/08 firmware first
