hi, i've been given an old max v it was working all channels fine then a good few months ago it just stopped now it just says please wait codes updating..... it is an original box not a clone, dont know if that matters but,
can someone point me in the right direction to fix it please?

Hi m8, first try a clear data/factory reset and re scan for channels.
If it has an older dated firmware on it, try flashing it with the newest and re scanning.

i tried re scanning following the thread on here, and got the same thing, did the factory reset tried scanning again and now it isnt finding anything.
how do i check what fw it has on it?
i'm new to this never played arround with one before, does it matter where I am town / city etc. the rapidshare link in the scanning tutorial wouldnt let me download the sr list.

Go >menu>config>system info>ok.
When scanning you need to choose the correct symbol rate for your area/provider.

is that the latest? how do i find out my symbol rate for my area the link in the scanning thread wont let me download the sr list.(nevermind i just managed to get it.)

Bolton matey, i got the symb rate but what do i do with the frequency number and the net id number? or are they not needed?

I've just ordered a cable to update it with, i'll keep trying to scan for now till it gets here who knows i might be lucky

In most cases you will only need to change the symbol rate for your area, the other settings will not need to be changed.

Have you got FTA channels viewable?

not anymore when i did the factory default it wiped everything now there are no channels and it cant find any either, not with the settings i'm using, it had the fta channels untill the reset.

now there is 0000 on the front panel, it wont let me pick any channels and doesnt find any with the power scan either.
after the scan the list is blank.
is there a way to download a channel list from my area and inject it into the box? save me scanning all the time.

I am sure a firmware update will fix your problem m8.
You could ues a CDF file from your area, if you can find one>Digital Kaos - Downloads - CDF
But even if you find one youll need the data cable to load it!

thanks for all you help matey, I managed to find all the channels BBC 1's on twice and cant find bbc 2 (the symbol rate was wrong in the list ) but can still only get the fta ones, all the rest say please wait codes updating or something like that. do you think it needs firmware re flashing?

It may well be that m8, but just now make sure that the emulation is enabled. The emulation will give access to pay channels.
Menu> language settings> OK> 1968> emulation> enable> save and exit.
Try that m8 it may work.

it is enabled matey i disabled it it said unknown smart card then re enabled it it sayd please wait code updating again, could it be the nagravision codes are out of date? i pressed the numbers twice didnt notice the menu change first time, it went to codes from ntl / telewest etc.

that worked a charm straight back on, thank you very much,

one thing i noticed is about 3 bbc1's and 3 ch4 +1's and a few other duplicates. is there a quick way of getting all the chanels in order bbc1-4 itv, ch4, ch5. etc. without sitting there for hours moving them about manualy?
