Many thanks for that as at last the answer is one i can understand. As it must be simple if the vbox works and ex1100 works at my mates.I shall have enquire about a signal booster.Or see if this one works at another mates as he is after one then get one like you suggested.Comment

any one got any other ideas i could try to help with my signal. Rugeley is the back end of beyond but i did think 28% was the norm and im sure that was the figure at my mates place.I havnt given up yet and thanks to all for ur input.I have tried all suggestions bar the signal booster so far.Comment

You have a signal problem in the street, or it could be a problem in the area that may be fixed soon they may be working on it, if it shows ( no signal) then you have no signal or very week signal, go to installation users installation and look at the signal strength, if its low it will show a number should be about 82 % and thats good, and it will be in the red if poor 15% and it should be in the green, pressing info will never get the true signal strength. try puting in your pace box turn off then put in your eurovox, it just may kick back in.Comment

Silly but is the cable in the correct input ? look at the front its top right at the back.Ive tried all sugesyions i can find and have upgraded firmware from here every scan comes up with no channels found and when switching was saying no signal.I had a working virgin box plugged in before i connected this one.i tried it at my mates house and it worked fine although the channels were crambled as i hadnt done the firmware then.i did use his cable and adapter though could it be the eurovox arial adapter? ive spent hours now reflashed several times tried tuning a dozen times all no use please please helpComment

28% is nowhere near good enough as signal needs to be around 80% + or - even using a booster wouldn't help with a signal that low,the incoming feed is just not good enough to work that box for some reason ....the only thing I can think of is to try your mates box at your house,if it wont work then you will know its the feed that is faulty ....any one got any other ideas i could try to help with my signal. Telecom69 is spot on, you are wasting your time re scaning, its a poor signal from the street, ok you can fix it if your brave.28% is nowhere near good enough as signal needs to be around 80% + or - even using a booster wouldn't help with a signal that low,the incoming feed is just not good enough to work that box for some reason ....the only thing I can think of is to try your mates box at your house,if it wont work then you will know its the feed that is faulty ....
Open the pit in the street, you will see a cable with your house number on it, unscrew it and put it into a blank one and you will be sorted, or if you pay anything to the cable company they will sort it free for you.Comment

Thanks for all the good advise folks.I am going to try my mates EX5100 at mine soon. Ive moved my model onto another pal who was after one if it worked so i went round at set it up 1st perfect.Tried NTL and they fobbed us off with no problem as far as they can.As its not my subscription i dont get to talk to them as i would be telling them to get off there arses and fix the problem
.But i have urged the subscriber to be more forceful.I do think the answer is signal sensativity.satbox4u say the ex5100 or the starview 5 will prob work on a weeker signal. As my mate has the 5100 i will test there theory

in this instance only ntl cabling is used and no other stuff or splitter.Cable is straight from there junction on wall which has 2 outputs.the Virgin box works perfect. The supplier of the ex1100 offered to have it back and reconmended the ex5100 or the starview 5 as a replacementComment
