hi folks just purchased a 1000sl and before upgrading the firmware i was wondering if theres any way to tell if its a clone or genuine as i dont wont to brick it.

and where can i get the lastest firmware from

i took the risk and upgraded it with the gen firmware and its not bricked it so must be gen .

There are not any clones for the ex1000sl.

As gadgetfiend just said there are no ex1000xl clones as it is a relatively new box so youll be ok flashing with the exixting firmware.

hey guys, i have just moved house and took my eurovox 1000sl with me and it was working fine on the tv in my old house but now all thats coming up on my tv at new house is no or bad signal, the connections are all the same i was wondering if anybody could help me figure out what is wrong.

when you say new house is it far from previous property? Might be that you are in a different symbol rate area the two options are 6887 or 6952 if one doesn't work try the other, might be as simple as that.

It sounds like your cable feed is not live. If your house is in the same area, it should not need another scan. You can check that the cables are connected to the white box from the Brown/Blue box on his outside wall, but most likely it is disconnected in the street cabinet. i hear its easy to reconnect

eurovx ex1000sl cdf file

do you need to load a CDF file before the firmware can be downloaded?

I have the box connected to the PC using the RS232 cable but dont seem able to download its firmware

there are RS232 to usb cables available online, would this solve the connection issue?
