being a Project Manager I can understand the important of this roll over now how they implement it is another thing, if it was me, I would do phase roll over taking each area and replacing box's - obviously cost has to be taken into consideration, time frame I would say good 18 months to move all subscribers over to N3

question is can you pump a N1 and N3 encryption signal down the same cable ?

I am sure i read the boxes are capable of upgrades on the encrytion, it was just a card to be replaced

Anyone on digital will have a box that just needs a new card...basic samsung 2110's ect.
On the other issue
My understanding is that linux based boxes
,black euro's can handle it with a chip change.....not a time to invest in a new box...wait and see....

The guys who market the boxes funded by the manufacturs are not sweating.......contingency plans ect......however for obvious reasons they aren't discussing it as they still have a lot of nag 1 capable box's to sell....Wait and see would be my advise .....I have been advised what wouold be the most future proof but no guarantees so want to wait and see one working.....

Rumur had it that the SV1 could not handle the new encription and no fix would be available for it...
Rumur has it that the fix was witheld and a lot of apparantly obselete stock were bought cheap .....
And they say there is no such things as miracles.

who cares any way they change then they change if it does happen i will just throw my sv3 away its been great and owes me nothing i have changed my svboxes as new 1s came out always had my money back by selling on fleabay never out of pocket great boxes the past 3 yrs have been great so lets all be greatfull to this forum and be gratefull for what we have had ,and lets all change when they change and keep this forum going ,happy 2009

well said trevor.if they change to n3 which i beleive they will do at some point. we will just have to get on with it.regarding n3 being hacked in germany nothings confirmed.theres been talk of a sat card called centaurous which alledgedly opens n3 but talk of it seems to have been faded away.lets hope the present hack remains open for a lot longer for 2009.

this thread is mad if you were to have a good look about sat forums you would find the likes of a dream box will be able to do n3 with out any chip change and should i also say its doing it now as one provider card has been done on n3 , its the cams that need work on them like all cc receivers they just need an update to read an n3 cards thats all and you will see this done if and when they move over to it , from what was said last year n1 is to run out soon no date was give i think but there is not much time left with it so there will be a change at some point . The south of ireland is upc now nothing to do with virgin there change will be soon if they do it like the sat providers they move chans over on to the system in packs by the time it comes to the hole change date there is only a couple left or they might do it by post code we wont know till they start it and chans start to go black

Maybe not a full hack but can confirm Cabo nagra 3 (Rom142) moscs cards exit and I confirm that. OK.

New mosc cards may not have a guarantee that they will work for more than 60 days due to a change in the way cabo now updates it's package. In fact there is no guarantee how long they will last as they have not completed the change over and there could be a revision update around the Conner for the new cards or some secret function that has not been activated yet. So not a full hack. Just a hack that at the moment gives you access to all cabo channels including Video on Demand.

Rumour has it and its 99% sure. Well 99% sure not 100% that new EMU with AU for nagra 3 on cabo. But don’t get your hopes to high as this maybe just for the current receivers that work with cabo cards.

Completely rewritten tcp-console.
Added manual ecm/emm sending.
Fixed timeing on ATR (should be alot faster for slow cards!).
