British Sky Broadcasting last week ordered UPC Ireland who own's Chorus Multichannel & NTL that if the various of pirate boxes running in Ireland at the moment are not switched to nagra 3 by kick off time in Premiership Saturday @ 12:45 that it will serve notice to all NTL & Chorus customers due to tv piracy...
The statement went on :
British Sky Broadcast wILL stop all feeds of sky sports, sky movies on the NTL / Chorus network untill this problem is resolved. All NTL / Chours employees were briefed with this information late last weeks.....
Both Chorus and NTL have now started to introduce N3 across its networks starting monday 17th of this month, BSkyB are to monitor the situation and are adement they will stop feeds to the Irish Cable companys if piracy is not stopped satisfactorily.
.................................................. .................................................. ...
From What I make of this statement is that Sky are now calling the shots with cable companys, switch to N3 or we switch you off ! If this is what has happened in the Repiblic of Ireland have Sky pulled the rug from under British Cable companys ?
If this is the case there could be a forced move by British Cable companys to do the same if Sky are waving the red cards ! in a very short time period .
As the bulk of Channels on Cable come from Sky's satellite platform, no cable company can afford NOT to do what they say ...
