dont know what i can or carnt say with out breaking rules but here we go.
had an amiko combo box for a while now
yesterday morning sat watching tv my router shut down weiredly it rebooted everything was fine apart from my amiko box
which the sound was fine but no picture .
the epg and menu worked ok so set of trying to rescan channels but still the same
afther trying everything i set out going on web for latest firmware which i ended up with a bricked box
which is stuck on a screen that says wrong sw for this hw please reinstall sock firmware or something that but its just stuck on that screen .
so bought a Q5 yesterday afternoon set in up
i put you know what in and it say ok
scan for channels through provider scan on telewest it found channels but no picture or sound
what am i doing wrong its a totally different box from amiko
there is nit scan and a manual scan but no idea what to do there
so could do with a bit of help as on my second day of bulls... with this box
am in west yorkshire area if that helps with helping me.
sorry if i have said something that i should,nt have and i respect rules but hay

There are threads around with net id s put the correct net id and also either 6952 or 6887 into the q5 it should pick up channels

                  Hi

When i set up my old Q5 i had to put an attenuator on to the back off my box as i think the signal was to strong when scanning for chans. You just need frencuency off a channel say BBC HD and scan for that then all chans and frecuencys come in. I dont know your frencuency as i live in staffordshire.

you need the correct cable.xml , if you have this you can scan or bruteforce scan , , , PM SENT

Q5 hv a reputation the HDMI socket feeler pins dont solder to mobo or loose soldering hence either no pic, got sound or no sound no pic.

As for Panasonic or Sony TV got pic no sound, goto TV sound setup, select HMDI sound and change it to ****og sound instaed of digital, the audio shud blare out.
