I have been thinking long and hard about this if there was really N3 coming to the uk don't you think places like wiz sat and cam sat would have reduced the price of there boxes to get rid of them before N3 rolled out well what do u think

Cant see the companies having thousands of boxes in stock.

So dont think this will affect them too much.

Even if it does all they need to do is bump up the price of a sat box by a few quid to recoup some loss as this is the road a lot of people will be choosing to go if they choose.

personally, the VM boxes are rub, only the ondemand stuff makes VM worth while.

For me, i think i'll eventually move to sky. better packages, boxes, etc plus the chance to play around with sat boxes

                  I concur with manofscience.

Am in the north west and think I have to march. We were on Vermin before I got a kryptview. Now we have a HD tv, so am thinking long and hard of giving up my coin to uncle rupert.

It would be interesting to know whether VM have had any customer migration to other service providers since the N3 introduction in Leeds etc. Not sure that their marketing department will let us know that. But it is certainly the one thing which would slow the rollout of N3.

Vermin engineers in North Wales , have been given letters , informing them of coming changeover to N3 starting in the beginning of the New Year !

                          what the..??

the whole reason for N3 roll out is to stop piracy of their service..
N3 roll out doesn't affect genuine VM subscribers why would they leave..??

i think chunder may mean peeps who have bb and phone but not paying for tv ops, i dont think peeps will move to sly ( not in any great numbers anyway ) because vm bb is the best the phone packages r ok as for tv well thats shite with vm and sly, also peeps wont want the hassle of phoning sly and waiting for them to install it etc, when they can just ring vm up and within a short time they got their telly back , the only peeps who will be hardest hit is the tight coonts who dont pay owt for their tv,
when my contracts up with vm im phoning em up and telling em to cancel the the tv package ( got minimum @ the mo) and see if i can wangle the large package oot of em @ a cheaper rate, if not i will pay the extra ?10 for the large tv package, ( to keep the missus happy ) in the mean time will be looking @ going doon the sat route , plenty of peeps on here to help me oot with that

a lot of you cable guys are all talking about sat and c/s its not as easy as you all think. I know people who are mods on big sat sites that have struggled to get there heads around linux boxs. Then who is going to share all these cards with you. Sky share are very hard to get good ones with out freezing. Most of the sat people who c/s watch foreign packages for the football not sky uk.I would think very long and hard before i bought a linux (dm500s ect) if i was not used to the satellite side as they are probably the hardest sat boxes to set up. the sat side is a hobby and needs constant time and effort to keep it up and running smooth
To get shares there is a sort of pecking order people only want to share with you if you have something to share back with them
so say you have sky then you would expect as good package in return for your share.so if you were to buy a ~~~~ subscriptin say dorsel at ?80 a year then some one who pays ?600 pound for sky are unlikely to share with you
