End of the road for cable box manufacturers with N3 roll out?

With Vermin implementing nagravision 3 encryption and as many people say that only FTA channels will work once implemented ,,, this means the box manufacturing companies will go bust as no one will buy cable boxs anymore ??? Wouldnt these companies pay some freak hacker to get the job done and break into the new encryption ???

My understanding is that these boxes count for less than 5% of what they manufacture so they can afford to let it go.
Same as manufacturors of VHS recorders. Beta max. 8 track tape decks. Amstrad 464's

There will still be a market for cables boxes despite N3 roll out if a method for cs is released.

I don't think it will be as simple as that mate. To allow cs the pairing method for each receiver must be known in order for it to work.

There is a script posted on another forum that will allow you to do a simple test without damaging your N3 to determine which pairing method is used for your box.

Not getting at you m8 but mr_spark has been a round for a while and im more than sure when he says some thing like that he would be more than 100% right, also these manufacturers will pay big money to get this and there is people out there for the right money will write an emu to work for it you can bet they are working on this now if they dont already have it most of it will be all closed source but then they put the money in to getting it done so have to look after there intrest

All well and true but to cs n3 someone will have to pay as you cannot share anything back.

Thats all and well mate but without knowing what pairing system is used for each individual box which can be DT06, DT08 or secondary how are you going to write an emu to allow cs for cable?

These methods require extraction of info from the stb until the method of pairing isn't known from the stbs in use and how to extract the info from the stb an emu cannot be written. This is the lower level stuff which must be done before hand.
