When sky first took off, they had 1 package and you paid a small payment for all channels.

Then Greed took over, not just from sky but for Footballers and High wages, and Football clubs wanting massive TV rights. Thats where we pay for it these days.

And let us see what happens to sky when football goews tits up, because i would bet that most people only have sky for the football.

Once the football goes tits up ( and its starting to show that now with the massive club debts ) I will then be happy with maybe Freesat.

I think Virgin Media will always win the war for broadband, as they are far superior to its competitors.

i totally agree if it wasnt for the footy we wouldnt bother. if free cable has taught us anything its how rubbish skys package actually is. i mean take sky one their premier channel where they showcase american shows like lost etc. its full of adverts enery 9 minutes or so and they last for 3 minutes, and they got a cheek to ask you to pay to watch this.discovery chanells etc are not much better either.

Virgin have had to take a big gamble going to N3 it must have cost them a lot of money to implement, on a product that has not great earner for them.If alot of people jump ship and move to sky for the better choice of HD channels then the gamble will put them out of bussnes.

i agree with you johnboy about adverts they are terrible thats why i mostly record my progs and then fast foward them on v+box cuts out all that 160gb gives you a lot of record time.

what ever encryption system comes about there will always be teams looking to crack them. im sure those who know a bit more about the media world can confirm the 'romours' of sky being involved in their competitors systems being cracked. and then even hiring the crackers. its in skys interest for virgin to fail. and also for virgin to undertake nds encryption. im sure this is why we now have sky italia and sky germany. sky will not stop till they control everything even though on the surface it doesnt seem so. card sharing is still new and im sure sky still have a few tricks up their sleeves with these white cards. maybe thats why sky italia cards go down every now and then. to test them.
the real way ahead is going to be iptv. dont know much about it but the beeb are developing theirs now and i think testing it.

so all u cabel fans wait awhile and u can have your cable back. and everyone on cardshare....enjoy while you can. hehehe

I dont wish to sound rude mate but you cable guys are deluded..

N3 has been around in the USA and Europe for years.. It's not been cracked.. The UK is a tiny market..

Get used to it.. N3 is as secure as NDS which is used around the world..

Save your money m8 it's not worth buying one. The whole of the UK will be blacked out on the free cable side soon. If it's the sat side your intrested in then buy a Dreambox. the OM box was based on both the Dreambox 500s and 500c. So get yourself a clone 500 or 600

Not worth it now, but they where a cracking box that gave you the advantage of both sat and cable tuners in the one box.

So whenever, if ever, they start working again, I just flic the switch and have access to all the cable channels..

The only people laughing are gona be Sly. IMO Sly hav the best package on offer. Virmin for BB and Sly for sat. Sly were also doing a half price deal not long ago, wat a ****fest that was-free HD pack + half price deal for a year.

VM cutting their throats

Me myself think that VM are cutting their throats, they dont have many hd channels, i got shut of my tv subscription a few months ago along with the phone which i kept getting nuisance phone calls on, phone call prices a rip off. i have om box just gonna switch across to sat. Like some said earlier, if the prices were cheap enough along with sly, there would be no call for the boxes. too much football on tv now anyway, sooner watch MOTD. N3 wont be cracked but may be worked around.
