its similar to the sky HACK . Ie the 9v battery on the telephone line.
Basically virgin TALKBACK works via the coax cable, so any ppv etc ordered gets sent down the coax to billing dept. You can open the box and cut a track and that will stop the box telling Virgin hq that you have ordered it.
The other way is a "talk back filter" that screw in the back off the box at cable input. Cost a few quid.
BUT the amount of credit you can have is stored on the card so once you hit that limit thats it. Most peoples limit is set to ?30 so lot of hastle for not a lot. There are ways to up the credit but again only up to a certain amount.
Once you cut the track or fit a filter the box is no longer on virgins sytem any more so they can send out engineer to see waht problem is so you would need to remove filter or repair track and as soon as you put it back on the feed it would talkback to the system and tell them what you purchsed. Total waste of time and money if your paying for it.

customer then pays dick 100 quid for a 50p phone call
all is hunky dory till the bill comes next month....you have been warned

Problem with that is that the person doing it would need the persons password etc to change package

if they are anythin like vermin, passwords would not be a problem.
my vermin contract is in missus name, recently tried to get a better deal.
i was asked for password which i didnt know.
next they asked to speak to missus and asked her for password , she didn't know either.
then they just asked her for full name, address, phone number and that was it.....
