Is it me going mad?

Im sure some time ago someone developed a plugin for Dbox/Dreambox whioch provided a UI for editing keys? Maybe it was on a DW image?

once I download the file to my PC to update whats the best application to use Notepad also once uploaded back to the box do I need to chmod the file.

Using your FTP client, right click the file and choose 'edit'. you don't need to chmod the file, it should already be chmod 644, nothing more.

I had a little fiddle with the mg_camd.cfg file to stop it AUing but that didn't work with my new Softcam.key I pulled just before trying it. Waiting patiently though

Was funny as well because just as it cut off, a VM van was lurking around outside the house as if he was looking for my address or something

tuxbox wont let me edit the key file

When you are in tuxbox and the keys section and on the correct keys file you are using............ did you press 4 to edit the keys

Edit the top 2 lines m8. The rest can be deleted if you want but not necessary

Quick q, from the key exe, how do you know which keys to use?

Hi, folks i think some poeples edit the the keys wrong way round. in keymaster 01..... start 2nd line one and dm box 01... is the top one.i think you have to check which key are which. after you edit the keys manually boot up your box on skysportchannel > and it will work.

RE the Kryptview and manual key entry.

Yes you can enter and save the new keys... But there is no way of stopping the box from re-checking the keys and updating them to the wrong keys.

The minute you come out of the key entry section they are overwritten with the bad keys.

The starview seems to work differently as the manual key entry works fine for them.
