hi m8 lets try this, take feed out boot up box go into em change freq/simble 411/6952 then usr the rite hand button on remote go forward to pages then it should say important changes have been made u now need to reboot ur box, press ok that will reboot box, once box has booted go back into em to see if the changes have taken affect, if they have put feed back in reboot box only this time hold in the down button until box display says ld14 then let go, that should skip the tune and box should start up normally, if that does not work there r a couple more things we can try......

Virgin Media Box Fault
I've had the same digital box since it was Telewest in 2004. Now VM.
The digi box is giving me problems, like I'm having to reset it every day now, because the clock doesn't update.
And.. When I go into the menu, and select a programme it doesn't work - stating in a dialog box that a 'reminder' has been set,
and of course doesn't change over the station.
When I do the 'remove the mains plug and power off - and RESET', everything works fine but only for a short while.
(Incidently, I'm sure Virgin Media invented the word 'RESET' because that's all I've ever heard from them when I've phoned
years ago..)
I would really like a new box, but after reading some posts on VM, I understand that VM seem to be rather dodgy with prices etc.
and you really need to have your witts about you.
So before I phone VM..
Just wondering if anyone has experienced my problems, and if it's been straight forward getting a replacement box, like for
free without being hit for some installation charge or anything?Comment

the thing about vm boxes is that you are leasing the box from them...
they refuse to sell their boxes...
box is technically theirs..
on the negative side:
when you cancell your contract, they can and will probably ask for it back
2. you cannot legally sell it because it isn't yours...
on the plus side:
if the box breaks down, then they will replace it... free of charge..
just phone them up and complain about intermittant problems (freezing, switching off etc) and they shoud replace it.....
if they can't fault it, then make sure its really broken before you phone the next time
ps, if they tell you to keep resetting box, let them know that you have done this many, many times and are not prepaired to part with your hard earned cash for a sub standard product...
you have to be polite but firm with them m8...
after all, you are paying for the box and deserve a working product

hi robert try changing the def freq but not the simble, do as normal ie when changed press ok then two pages back reboot box will then go bk to em then check to see if change as happend, if this dont work we need to look at ur net id, by the way wot is the net id on box? and wot should it be??.....
