NEW MEMBERS TUT HOW TO INSTALL THE KEYS 28/11/08

Hi All, this is for people who have never done it before and hopefully it will save you all typing lots of silly questions...

you need to post a message or two on this site, then after about 10 mins, the site will allow you to download files from it (may take up to 1hour) so go and so it now !

then you need to download this and open it with something like "winrar"

If you can't open it download and install this
Download details: .NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package (x86)


Once you have installed the keys file and it has opened you will see all the codes, click refresh to make sure it has the latest codes. Look for your service provider or who it used to be so TW KEYS = Telewest, CW=cable&wireless and so on. (your provider code stays the same so 5a 01 is Telewest) and so on.

Then depending on what box you have you need to instal the keys, if you have a Eurovox (any model) do this...

PRESS MENU
LANGUAGE
HIGHLIGHT THE SECOND ONE DOWN ON THE LIST
TYPE 1968
CLICK 'OK'


SCROLL TO THE LEFT, UNTIL YOU CAN SEE THE WORD NAGRAVISION ON THE TOP OF THE PAGE.

GO INTO THE FIRST CODE AND YOU WILL SEE WHERE THE KEYS GO

ENTER KEYS AND THEN PRESS THE BLUE BUTTON.

Note: there are 2 screens you need to do, you can't enter both codes on the first screen, you will see what I mean when you are on the Nagravision menu.

or you can do it like this...

BETTER WAY TO MANUALLY CHANGING CODES FOR THE EUROVOX

Press menu on the remote,press the yellow button(TEXT)
Provider=54 01 for NTL ... 5E 01 for chorus
Key 00-key in tne codes for 00
Key 01-key in the codes for 01
using the remote use these butoons for the numbers in the codes
TV= A, RADIO= B, P-=C, P+= D, INFO= E, RECALL= F.
press ok to save and exit to a tv station


Your box should now be working, note keys change all the time, but its the best we can do until new rollover firmware comes out.

If you have a different kind of box then click the forum list on at the top of this page, select the forum for your kind of box, then have a look through and see if you can find out how to install on your box.

Sorry I only have eurovox so it's the only one I can tell you how to do. If anyone one knows how to install on other boxes please post here and make it easy for other people.

Firstly i would suggest you install the DK1.1 image as Devilfish as made this image very easy to change keys now with the additional DreamBox Key Editor addon, which you can download directly from the DM500C if connected through a router.
Once you have installed the DK1.1 image do a Transponder Scan for your area should only take a few minutes,
Ok once that is done, you need to add the plugin available on your DM500C via the DK1.1 image, Now press the Yellow Button and you will see Kaos Panel, select 2 Manager Suite,select Addon Manager then select Server DK Addons,then select Plugins,then select Dreambox Key Editor and press Blue button this will install.
Now restart enigma go to Menu Shutdown select Restart Enigma
Once Enigma has been restarted click on the Blue Button and select Dreambox Key Editor.
Now you need to simply add the Key information into the 2 box's, select update when all keys are in, then press and hold the info button for a few seconds,select evocamd2.13 and select a premium channel like sky sports wait a min or two and you should have channels back.

When i get to the part Server DK Addon, an error message appears saying 'couldn't resolve host the given remote host was not resolved'

Any idead what i have done wrong

Ok sounds like you have a router issue,reboot the router and try again.

Sorry mate, i'm not using a router, i have just added the DK1.1 image to my dreambox through an rs232 cable and re-connected my dreambox to my tv and going through your guide that way.

Can this only be done through a router then ?

I do have a router but its not setup.....

I would also reboot the DM500C,out of curiosity is the DM500C set up for DHCP..Menu, Setup,Expert Setup,Communication Setup,IP: ***.***.*.* DHCP ticked or not.
