HI,

Haven't been onto this forum for a while but in need of some advice. Like everyone else my box went down, however have seen a new box which works through a permanent internet connection. Anyone know much about thse? are they reliable etc. Quite expensive so don't wnat to fork out for one before i get good feedback

Hi, I'm new here, but I suspect my predicament is shared by lots of others. I've read around this topic so as not to waste people's time, but just can't get my machine to unscramble. Digivox silver, not Ireland, 2007. Worked fine when last used 2 yrs ago. I can do a factory reset , find loads of channels, system info 1004, EMU on, go to a $ sign channel, not being unscrambled. If I'm getting this far, do I still need to update firmware to V4300 or is there a more recent one(is this the same thing as "flashing" - that's not what it meant when I was young!)? I go to the fileshare website posted elsewhere, I see that the download is no longer available, one of the links gives a claim by NBC... as the reason.

Is there a way of persuading my box to unscramble $ stations, or will this only work when/if a current working update becomes available?

Just thought my machine needed updating or reviving, then I realised on reading more that it was more likely that we had all been overtaken by events. Best advice is to get a sub for a while, that is, if you have any money, or get out more, that is, if you have any money.
