Hi. As a newcomer to the site I would like to say how impressed I am with the knowledge that the vast amount of members seem to have. However some of us have purchased a piece of equipment (which suddenly does not work) and realise how much technical information we are lacking to maintain the equipment.Personally my issue was with a Eurovox box. I purchased it, connected it up and hey presto I had television. Over the last few days like thousands of others the problems started. Thanks to this site I have downloaded keymaster, found how to transfer the codes into the box, and even learnt that the remote does more than change channels.
Over the last few days I have spent hours on this site trolling though the different forums trying to understand what measures I need to take to increase my knowledge of this piece of equipment. Resulting in my desktop having up to a dozen windows open.
I am now trying to prepare myself for ?THE FIX? when it comes. At the moment I have not got a clue what I will need to do to install ?THE FIX? on my box other than I will have to connect the box to my PC. To prepare for this I have purchased what I believe to be the correct cable. Until ?THE FIX? arrives I will try and troll the site for information on what I will need to do to download the program and ?Flash?? it on to my box.
My point to this thread, please be patient with us newcomers some of us were not born with a laptop in one hand and a digibox in the other, we all have to learn. What comes easy to one person can be a chore to another. I will surely be needing some help over the next few days to get my box up and running and hope you will assist me with the downloading and installation of ?THE FIX?. I understand the frustration of some members who think a newcomer can visit the site and within five minutes walk away with a step to step guide to solve all their digi problems. However I think SELF HELP is the only way to learn, but, please a bit of guidance from the more knowledgeable is very much appreciated.
