yes it does happen, but the other thing to remember is, IF they dissconnect a cable in the cab to test it for whatever reason, there will be NO signal on that cable as they have just disconnected it from the tap in the cab.....i suppose they could go round disconnecting all the cables from addresses that dont have a valid subscription, that way the "illegal" customer, wouldnt get ANY services, thats why most pay for just a minimal package

They wouldnt do it anyway, imagine the manpower and time involved, also, everytime someone from one of those addresses subscribed legitimately, they would be back out reconnecting

          my theory is this.....

if you pay some sort of subscription then your less likely to be a target, a theory of "its better to get some money off you than none".

for instance, i pay full broadband as i think it's worth it and use the phone line a lot, however.....
i dont watch a lot of tv at all and am more interested in the fun of getting it and playing the cat and mouse games than actually watching it! if the tv hack ever completely dies for good then i will immediately ~~~~ cable off and get my broadband and phone line elsewhere and concerntrate more on my euro-sat setup or go to sky which is a damn sight better.

and i personally think a lot of ppl think the same as me, they're only with cable for the freebies.

however the leechers that dont subscribe at all will be the more likely targets as they give no monies at all to the companies and just steal off them.

lets not forget it those that sell these boxes to jo public to make money (traders) that will eventually spoil it for the hobbyists that do it all themselves and want to learn, it these traders that the cable companies spend there money trying to catch rather than the individuals at home getting the free tv.

i heard that richard branson has hired a load of religious indian guru's who can teleport their thoughts down the fibre optic and remote view the living rooms of people who are watching cable illegally..

I dunno how much of this is true, because from my understanding , the signal which comes from the cable is the same for the internet and tv, so in theory if your paying for the internet (then a signal is already coming to your house - and how are they gonna prove you are receiving illegal cable) especially also coz there is no feedbackon the boxes either. But on the other hand if your not paying for anything and the signal is live - should there be something to worry about or would they just simply switch the line off?

                Any comments very much appreciated....

You've even listed your date of birth 13 October, 1979

If I could be arsed I could probably find your address ...I'll leave that bit to the VM guys in the van

ive heard down the pub that vm are shrinking their fraud staff using a flux capacitor powered ion reversing doobie firkin machine and they will be sending them down your cable to see what box youve got ,then they will smash up the inside of your box with a hammer!!!!!!....only joking we all know you can only shrink living matter ..they havent the technology to shrink the hammer as well..........

on a more serious note if your not paying for any services at all then they may disconnect you from the cab..unless there is no address tag on your cable then they have to leave it..but they only do this occasionaly when theyre bored and they send staff out on cab clean up duty

                                oh my GOD :-)

talk about making a HUUUUGE thing out of a rumour! My question was pretty straight forward , all I expected was a answer with some explanation and there;s some muppets who have taken it to the next level !

But I have to agree with a couple of them comments - so I've hidden my details!
