just to add a bit of spice to this thread this morning on my way to work i drive past three green hubs ansd at all the 3 stations they were vermin staff playing around with cables... now they can't be that many people wanting to sign up for vermin just for christmas so something may be up.. i read some where else that the 6th dec will be a significant day... wait and see...

talk about making a HUUUUGE thing out of a rumour! My question was pretty straight forward , all I expected was a answer with some explanation and there;s some muppets who have taken it to the next level !

i have to agree with the others, I don't think its plausible rumor.

a bit late hiding your details; your name, age, and location have already been splashed about in a few posts already. I wouldn't be surprised if there are a couple of VM guys in a van outside your street already!

Every other week (or every other day at the moment) we hear these tales.

It will no doubt end one day, change of encryption, but have read enough to know (gulp, famous last words) that there wont be no Virgin guy knocking on my door anytime soon. Pay the minimum and enjoy, and dont blab to best mate, guy in the pub what you get, I would guess most get caught this way.

I heard that vermin are changing their vans to little yellow robin reliants with "vermin independat traders" painted on the sides

I have heard a rumour in the past 5 minutes,
The VM guys are going around in a van and finding out who is receiving illegal cable.

I dunno how much of this is true, because from my understanding , the signal which comes from the cable is the same for the internet and tv, so in theory if your paying for the internet (then a signal is already coming to your house - and how are they gonna prove you are receiving illegal cable) especially also coz there is no feedbackon the boxes either. But on the other hand if your not paying for anything and the signal is live - should there be something to worry about or would they just simply switch the line off?

Any comments very much appreciated....

refering to your rumours i have heard that vm have already phoned some customers and told them that there is 3 signals in the house and have only 1 box.is this to spook the customer

I have 2 friends and a neighbour who doesn't pay for VM and has been cut off already, as they didn't subscribe. A bit close for comfort, but I've had no knock at the door or seen any extra vans, same as the the "TV Licenceing" vans

i to have heard of the channel 808 warning about the 6th of december at 10pm!! i havent seen this channel, but it is rather interesting reading all this.

They are going to have a encyption roll during the big fight. I remember sky used to do similar stuff on the morning of big fights in the analogue days when lots of us used to use season to decypt.
