From what I remember it is illegal to connect ANY cable receiver including FTA to any vermin cable feed. Additionally if you have loaded any firmware then warranty invalid. If the protective cover over LAN socket has been removed then warranty invalid. If you open a paypal dispute the seller needs only to show any of the 3 above points to blow your claim out of water. You knew the risks when you bought it, if you want guarantees then get a subscription.

I never mentioned a virgin upgarde. All i posted was what everyone can find on virins website if you have a min subscription and it states that they ARE ALSO HAVING BROADBAND PROBLEMS WHICH USUALLY AFFECTED CHANNELS!!!

I had cable boxes from the early analogue days finishing with a eurovox HD box. I had 10 good years and have no complaints. I pay ?30 per month for Sky + hd no movies or sports. I then pay ?3.00 per month to a streaming service giving me every premier league match live with no freezing which I can stream to my tv via ps3. movies I download free and have more than I can watch. So ?1 a day seems ok to me to keep family happy and have no worries. At some time you have to accept that there will be no going back to uninterupted free cable TV. Even sat cs has a cost. So no I do not have money to burn but get to watch what I had before in HD at minimal cost.
