I understand your opinions I'm not a kv spokesman saying this is the way they will do it nor is it a case of "I'm right, you're wrong"... I just loosely stated a way they could go about dealing with things, against all them people saying their intent could be to sell up remaining stock and flee. That would be a last ditch option when they could easily do a lot of other things before turning to that. Like something I said before.
And when I said "discontinued" I meant still up and working just not manufactured any longer they could have labelled the box discontinued months ago, then people would know a better box was coming out soon.. And 6 or so months(maybe upto a year) is still a pretty good return on the price you have bought the box for. I know this may sound contradicting to what I have been saying previously, but for people who expect this box to just be supported for years are dreaming. When you's say the main boxes should be supported longer I do agree. But at the same time you also have mentioned the money making and business factor. The boxes are sold with a considerable markup price because of the service that comes with it. I will be really surpised if a new box comes out sometime this year and the 780s are still supported throughtout the whole of the following year.. they need a new wave of boxes to keep income strong. Realistically anyone with a 780 should be happy with atleast a year or so of server service and if happy with it, then plan to support them further by buying the new box. You have to consider that kv ofcourse are planning how to keep the ball rolling for them. is that too much to stomach, not really considering the saving on legit subs. It is no secret the server will not stay on for the years people think it may,.you can more less expect what I said to happen, a new box then a limited time of support for older models.. that is only right, what do you expect for a 160 quid box.
Also the server going down is a good thing I think. Because it is a show of strength of how they will fair to get it back up and running again if same thing should happen in the future. It is more less 90% back up and will soon be back to normal.. I can't believe people are still doubting it being back to normal when its clearly getting beter week by week.
And I also agree with something someone else said in another thread... "the best way is Sat cs". I came to this very forum awhile back and said this(you could probably find it if you look at my previous posts)... unlike these cable boxes, there is a huge margin for error when you go Sat cs and about 10,000 more chanls for motor dish users and better freeview, and better resell value if you ever get fedup or leave it. these cable boxes become useless, not even descent freeview and no resell value when things go tits up.

. I never really look too hard at peoples sigs. You are right though, Sky movies is crap, especially considering its classed as a prestige package and service. That online streaming service like lovefilm and other sites are the future I think. Less than half the price of Sky movies a month and access to thousands of films and HD content. If you had something like an apple tv or an internet tv and a sub to them,, watch what you want when you want no ads.. or very little atleast.
