dell and xp should be ok as they normally have a serial port and are easily used.
so the box has the latest firmware, you factory reset and rescanned without lan connected,i was led to believe that firmware upgraded the iconnect also,i think just keep trying the on/off/on to connect.can you run cable straight to the internet point of origin

yes dw the guides for flashing say to have power off to box at rear, press download and power on box it should flash/update and reboot.

cactikid, it's never shown up as red. iconnect doesn't seem to like me. I've run out of ideas and am stumped.

Spacey, I solved the same problem you have using dw's download. The fact that the link light is still not coming on I still believe only flashing the iconn will fix your problem.
Are you flashing your iconn with all other cables disconnected?

can you remember what firmware you flashed box with as if you flashed with 780 it would have an effect on iconnect.
can you check in downloads if you still have it what file you may have downloaded.

If he flashed a 750 with 780 firmware the wont be any files for the iconn so all you would get would be a power light.

When flashing the iconn you dont have any connections to the box or router. Just the null to the computer and the power supply.

The firmware used was A750 and downloaded with new s/w,which was 24.4.11. After that, connected box to cable feed, done a scan then applied iconnect and that's when it went wrong *module update failed* and that's when it went to one green bar. Was told of DW190 s/w downloader, applied it successfully but without any connections, just null modem from computer. When i reapply it to the box, it just shows only one green bar.

When i put LAN port in the working iconnect, it immediately goes to two bars.

I was just thinking, could something have gone wrong with iconnect LAN port connection? My ethernet wires all working fine.
                    Regards,
                    spacey

i have heard of other iconnect needing powering on and off and on a number of times to kick start it as some get lazy

yes dw same as flashing the box null cable and power source, never seen the iconnect done yet but it it works great.
