old firmware as it needs the s/w online update first, connected with lan cable?when updated factory reset and rescan from live feed.

yes that is what the lan update is by s/w updates the firmware by download off the net.

I did a reset and full to scan and still hanging at sw download. How long should it take? I remember it not taking more than 5 minutes

                  Yes a working LAN connection
I have done it and notice that the channel scan is taking longer than before so we will see how the SW update goes

boom straight away is said download will start after reboot.
If I have to point to one problem I would say it was after manualy flashing using null cable I did not power the box off long enough.

Thanks very much for your helps!

when manually flashing box with null modem cable people are in a hurry, box itself reboots when done then you power off and remove cable.
                      glad your sorted.

after boxes are flashed/updated a factory reset/rescan is done and not the other way round.
