sounds like it a vga socket and not a rs232 socket most modern laptops dont have rs232 sockets anymore if thats the case you can use a usb to rs232 cable and do it via the usb port..
also theres actually a second sw update dated the 26/05/2013 anyone with the 25/05/2013 try updating again for the later 26/05/2013

Are you sure the female connector on the pc is a serial port?

They are normaly male connectors.

My sw date on my box says 6\11\12 so y don't mine update past 100%, I'm using a router also

hello im having same problem ie iot freezes at 100|% im new to this as ive only got the a780 last week and i only had to plug in and watch now im clue less can any one help me to get my box working again please i have a nine pin cable but dont no what to do PLEASE can some one help me ???

well if it wont update usual way u will need to manually update using cable loader and bin file in downloads, look at tutorial link

780 is the same, u connect cables have kv turned of switch at box, u open up loader load in new bin file hit open when it starts flick switch on at back of box and if ur configured properly it will load simples.

if anyone trying to update there kv via lan has software older (before) the 11/12 release then it wont work.
you have only but 2 options download bin file using computer or a box to box transer.
any sw older then 11/12 when using remote via lan will just stick at 100%.
im sure this was stated before yet folk keep asking why they box is getting stuck at 100%
