On going issue no SS1 or SS3

    Hi Al,

I dont seem to be able to scan ssp1 or ssp3 any longer had the issue for over several months. All other channels i can scan no problem. Is there a manual search i can try? Anyone know the frequency to search via?

Both SS1 & SS3 use the same frequency (TP) as does,
          132 Comedy Central
          157 Fox
          243 PBS America
to name a few, if these are also missing it means a TP is down, scan direct from the wall socket no splitter, the TP for your area will differ from others best state your town/city.

Im in the Derby area. I have a direct feed from the VM wall socket however i dont have any form of subscription with VM will that have any bearing? It did work in the past but suddenly ssp1 and ssp3 just stopped being found when scanned. I dont think i have the above channels either.

you need to do fac default and scan m8 as a lot of channels have changed number ss1 used to be 511 its now 502

Channel Nos did change Dave but TPs didn't and a scan put all channels in correct order, he did say they were lost months ago, someone from Derby maybe able to give the correct TP for manual scan.

My brother lives next door and his SSP1 and SSP3 is working fine, checked his frequency and tried doing a manual scan his shows as channel 18 scanning all networks the signal quality appears below 15, could this be the reason?

May be i am not doing manual search correct? I when into installations, manual scan option and selected channel 18 which pre-populated the frequency to the same as my brothers however his signal quality is over 80 and mine is below 15, the only difference i can say there is that he has a valid VM BB and TV package with them.

Whats a fac def? Done factory reset and all that, or do you mean factory reset box and then do a manual search?

he has a stronger signal,so scan your box there and if it finds it then you know the difference in a paid service and non paid with a weaker signal.we have always said to have a minimum package for box to work,as far as i remember those channels people issues with are to do with weak signal or bad cabling.

If you box shows scrambles or no video on channels forget all that has been said including this post, it's not a scanning fault.

If your brother like you has a KV box, go to his box when on SS1 or SS3 press OK on the remote control (RC) then press the top grey button on the left, what it shows under Nagravision is the frequency and S/R (Telewest or NTL) eg 699.0 is frequency.
To install the frequency on your box, Menu - Manual Search - Frequency [MHZ] put your brothers frequency in, press yellow button to scan.

Thanks Lac, i tried that but the signal is very weak on frequency 394.75 shows 22 which fails when i attempt to scan, Signal at my brothers house for freq 394.75 is 86 so guess there is the issue.
