Apologies Cactikid,
It seems I’ve annoyed you and I swear that wasn’t my intent.
I couldn’t find the 1st frequency under the technical stuff on my virgin box. Only my Net id, so i used the frequency mentioned in the previous post.
I’m not tech savvy I’m afraid but would appreciate any help I can to fix the issue!
Many thanks in advance.Comment

no worries mate as people get lazy in reading back,do you have a superhub 1 as somebody else has the same issue, what netid was mentioned?
and nothing listed when you check providers box?
Press the home button on your VM remote control.
Go to settings.
Then technical stuff.
Your net id is the first item on the list.

No one is being lazy! The instructions on how to resolve this are hardly comprehensive are they?
Getting the net ID off your providers box has nowt to do with resolving the missing netid issue.
You can get the frequencies of all of the channels from your area from your subbed box but the trick seems to be finding the one that pulls in your net id. It;s not quite as simple as you seem to be making out.Comment

Hi and really sorry for the delay in replying!
I fixed it by doing a factory reset then manually added tp 57100 6952 qam 64 (settings taken from subbed box as instructed)
I then went back to auto scan and my net id was there!
I was pulling my hair out for days! Cactikid was very helpful as was other people on forum so there's no need to spit ya dummy out. Best be polite if ya asking for help :-)Comment

I'm not interested in him helping me.
I took exception to him telling other posters who have asked a reasonable question to "read back the damn thread" and accusing people of being lazy. The "fix" is not quite as straightforward as he is making out. It's not even a solution he has come up with himself its rehashed info from other posters.
On the Tivo there are three frequencies listed and as far as I can tell these change depending on the channel you are one. The Tivo doesn't list the symbol rate either, so getting the correct info isn't that easy.Comment

Hi Woodward thanks for the post. Both videos show how to perform a factory reset and network scan which was all you needed to do before the netids started t disappear.
When I have time I'm going to try and find the missing netid frequency from a subbed box. The problem is I onlt have access to a Tivo and the correct one isnt that easy to find!

correct was not my solution but at least i did a bit of researching and owners of boxes should be doing the same if they want a fix,the same is with a car look after it
checked the date on that post and was over 4 years old,but new members would need to get info or get people to post their details on a list and i did ask but no one bothered to answer.
i am willing to help anyone who wants help are you, even answered the other post elsewhere?Comment

Hi watling85,
n
nice to see you've sorted your box out.
when i go into the technical stuff part on my virmin box the only thing i can recognize is the net ID. What are you looking under to find the your details:
'tp 57100 6952 qam 64'
im guessing the first part is your frequency what should that be under on the virmin box?
the second part (as i was with Telewest and also confimed on a list of Net IDs) - Im presuming my one should be 6952
The final part - What will this be under in the tecnical part.
on a list of Net IDs found on another website i have found the following: (which corresponds to my details)
Eastcote TW 40980 131000 6952 NEW 11.11.2006
i've tried entering these details in the manual search option but still now joy.
Thanks in advance.Comment

Cactikid, Yeah that was me.
I managed to find the default frequency for the uddingston 40984 net id from my folks old V+ box after plugging it back in. According to the engineers menu on the box it is 619.000 6.952 qam 64.
This is the same frequency that is listed with the 40984 net ID that you will find on all of the net id lists on most forums.
I tried entering this frequency in the manual scan section then auto (network) scanning but to no avail. It always brings in 51 net ids.
I did notice though that it does pull through the Edinburgh 1 & 2 net ids which are also listed as using the same default frequency. So it seems strange that it finds them and not mine!Last edited by Wellinever; 8 November, 2014, 21:16.Comment

What type of Virgin box do you have? Tivo, V+, V?
To get the default net id frequency you need to get into the engineers menu.Comment

hi Wellinever
i have the VHD box. How do i get into the engineer menu? I'm guessing it wouldn't be under the 'Technical stuff' Part.
thanksComment
