I think all the boxes are the same.

    1. Power off at wall.
    2. Hold in up and down arrows on front of box for approx 5 secs at the same time as turning the box back on.

You can then navigate through the pages and you should see the net id and default frequency. You need the frequency (eg 619.000) symbol rate (eg 6952) and qam (eg 64). You might see more than one frequency but you are either looking for the one under net id or the one that says default.

Be careful not to change any setting or you could knacker the box. Once you have the info turn it back off and on again and it will reboot normally.

This is what I do on my A850 box.

      1 Factory reset
2 Turn off at wall then back on
      3 Manual scan
4 Yellow button to add frequency, symbol rate and qam from subbed box
      5 Hit OK to save
6 Back out to previous menu
7 Select Network Scan then Telewest.
It then runs through the scan and always picks up the same 51 net ids.

I've also tried scanning on the TP at 5 though you have to delete all channels before doing a network scan or the box hangs and you need to turn it off and on again.

          No problem fo08aam

It obviously doesn't work for me either. Hopefully a new firmware update might sort it out.

I also tried using a booster just in case it was something to do with the signal but it still didn't work.

i have the VHD box. How do i get into the engineer menu? I'm guessing it wouldn't be under the 'Technical stuff' Part.

            thanks

Press the home button on your VM remote control.
            Go to settings.
            Then technical stuff.
Your net id is the first item on the list.

that was from an older vm box so no idea if its the same or not, when you get the info do this

enter details into into a factory reset kv and from manual scan only scan it finds data.
then autoscan and it should then list your lost net id.

posted elsewhere so no idea needs checking.

            - on your V+ unlike the TiVO it does not show you the settings
            - on your V+ do this ......................

            - switch off on the back
            - holding the up & down buttons [on the front (left-right-up-down)] firmly down
            - switch the box on at the back
            - count about 15 seconds and let go of the up & down buttons
            - let the box boot into the 26 page engineers menu
            - you want page 8b if I remember correctly

he said that is only works on a vm box not tivo,so go find an owner locally and get the first listed item which is frequency and qam off that box.
factory reset and power off at back and connect to main coaxial feed.
input data of frequency and qam into manual scan and scan.
go and automatic scan and you should see your netid back and choose it as you know its 100% correct for the moment until they change it..

someone else mentioned this about the tivo.

To find netid on a Tivo box you press Home then 'Help & Settings' then 'Systems Info' then 'Diagnostics' and the top line is your net id I believe.

no idea say if it does or not

You can get the net ID number from the help & settings menus on all of the boxes but to get the net id default frequency, which is what you need to enterer when doing a manual scan on the KV box, you need to get into the engineers menu.

Unfortunately, this isn't working for some areas.

I think you have misread what I have said Cactikid, apologies if it wasn't clear. The engineers menu I was referring to is on the Vermin box not the KV, that's where you get the net id frequency, symbol rate and qam from that you enter in the manual scan section of the KV.

I may be adding the frequency incorrectly but there are only four options in manual scan.

                  Green button select all
                  red button select tp
                  yellow button add tp
                  blue button modify tp.

I select the yellow button and add in the freq, symbol rate and qam. hit ok to save.

Scan on that one tp and it brings in 6 channels. Now if you go back and try to network scan without deleting those channels the box hangs and you need to restart it.

If you delete those channels (not the tp you added in manual scan) and rescan it picks up the same netds as before.

Im just going to leave it now and see if anyone else has success.

Thanks for offering to help Boodykaka

I just tried a straightforward factory reset and rescan and low and behold like fo08amm above there were an extra 11 netids this time and mine was there!

I would imagine whatever has changed it is at the vermin end.

                              Cheers

yes that would be it as no firmware was released by kv and vm are alway working on updating things, glad its coming back now for many as it may make your viewing better.
