hi bud, that error is normally because correct comport is not selected

you can check in device manager what comport your pc is on and select from drop down menu in downloader the same, if on a diff comport thats not in downloader menu change in device manager to one that is.

When you hit the start button for the flash you then power the box on.

you might have a faulty box.
if you disconnect all cables and plug in in at the mains,
when you switch box on, display should flash something like "00:00".
if you then press standby button on remote, then display should flash "0n" then a channel number....
                is any of this happening?

the boxes come ready to accept fta channels.
if nothing is happening when you connect power and press the on button, then it looks like you have a faulty unit...
best contact whoever sold you it.....

ive had one that looked dead nothing on lcd when switched on but it still flashed np's and the cause was cable from front panel to mainboard had come loose so it was easy fixed but if yours aint taking flash it sounds like summin else and if your dead sure about your setup for flashing being kewl then i would say send back.
