Thanks there are so many wizz kids on this forum its nice that people ae willing to help me

tried the s.w update and yes it started to search for updates and after 5 mins it still had the same screen on it.

so that seems to point to no internet connection

The plugs are on different rings in the house the electrician wired the bungalow like this when we had a rewire 18 months ago

1 is on the bedroom loop and that connects to the pc
the other is on the lounge room loop and connects to the kryptview

is this the cause and how do I get round it ? thanks chaps

my upstairs and downstairs are different also i had to use 2 homeplugs and a cat 5 to hook up different circuits,as i was able to run cable through floor with pipes

thanks for that I was hoping that the two plugs defeated the idea of a long cable

is there any other way than the cat 5 cable

just been on wikipedia and they say cat 5 has been replaced by cat 5e ?

what does the cat 5 cable connect to ?

the plugs have a connection out to the router and the other one has the cable to the box so where would a cat 5 cable fit into the system

home plug to home plug to link up 2 different rings.there is a thing called a wifi bridge but hard wired is best if possible.

i got a call in to the guy who does all the internet work for my busines ( sorry no plugging unless admin says ) quick plug

so hopefully he will be able to do the job for me

just annoying that I got all the channels on the thing but can only watch the basic free view ones

still flying off to tenerife in the morning weather permiiting and fingers crossed going from Liverpool so hopefully will be fine
