scanning for full channels

Happy Xmas ppl.. I have a quick question..

I have done a factory reset on the box, switched off. Taken LAN out waited over 20 seconds, switched on. Done a scan on telewest pressed the green button. I see lots of towns to choose from..

Leeds is closet to me, but it doesn't have all the channels. Misses a lot, has skysports 1, misses 2 has 3, 4 etc..

The question I have is, does it matter which town I choose? Coz I choose others like manc etc it has more but then misses out sky 4 and some movies. Which town has the full channel line up?

Go to which ever one is best for you that works and when weaver is better try again .but if u r happy with the one u choose then leave it it will be fine

once you factory reset you choose ntl or telewest then network then nearest town to you but when scanning you need to remove all splitters etc ,no need to disconnect lan for any length of time ;if you choose wrong area you may pick up channels but wont decrypt them

make sure u scan with no splitters m8.if u have some pay channels working its a signal problem make sure all coax ends r tight aswell.

as like sv6 and 7 i will always say to remove lan before scanning and insert after its done,if you choose and find correct area make a note of it as it saves you going through the whole lot.

Thanks for the replys, I been scanning now for the past hour. Lol Birmingham is rubbish.. I'm trying to get the footyy before it starts.. everyone's reply is true, I don't have spliter its straight to the box. Now I understand abit more about the decrypting.. I wish I could just have them all like the rest of you lucky lot.

Still no success I think il be going through them all at this rate. Anyone near the yorkshire area who have full channel list? which town is it hiding in.

Erm a noob question, currently I scan and I choose the closest town. Like on that list is my town but doesn't come up on the list when scanning. Do I manually select my town? Erm how..

All I do at the mo is automatic, gives me list and I choose closest.

you need to select correct provider first,if you dont wrong ids will show.use the list closest to you and see what provider.

I am doing everything that I am supposed to, ryt provider but still nothing. On the list for my town it is tw.. so I choose telewest before pressing green button.

Try Ex C&W then look for Leeds.

When the screen comes up with the Cities/Towns wait for about a minute. It some times takes a while to collate all the pages. Make sure you scroll through all the pages and you should find Leeds. If not try Bradford but on Telewest, Dewsbury on NTL or even Huddersfield which could be either of NTL or Telewest. As a last resort it may be Keighley on Telewest.

If you aint got it after that lot you got other problems.

If you have provider cable box look in menu & it will give you
correct provider & NET-ID

Are you sure you have TW selected as provider as both Bradford
and Keighley should show on list as 40961. Check is 40961 shown
on list as a number only. Select it & scan & you should be sorted.
If you can't find 40961 select other areas near to you & keep
scanning until you have all channs. Disconnect LAN-cable from
box while scanning.
