How do you connect RS232 to Ethernet?

I have just received my kryptview box and purchased the homeplug system as suggested now my problem is tthe box came with no cable and has an RS232 male connection. So I need to get a short cable with RS232 female connection one end and an ehternet male other (an ethernet female would also do). Is this possible or do I now have to purchase a hub as previously posted on other queries. If you know were to get the cable described above please advise. Regards.

Thanks but the cables you are suggesting are just RS232 cables I need to get from RS232 to ethernet (i dont think this is possible in a cable)

can't see why you would want to do what you are trying
the box has an ethernet connection
remove the sticker near the vcr scart and you will see the ethernet connector for your box

There are lots of cable RS232 to RJ45 network cable adapters out there (google could be your friend here) but you will find most of them at around the ?100 mark. Not seen any cheap ones tbh - maybe try ebay?

A friend of mine recently needed to remote control some Amp racks via RS232/Serial ports and he found some wifi adapters to RS232 and they were about ?35.

if its the 780 kv you need the null modem cable to flash the box the first time,and the lan as said is under the sticker and the scart to tv to view.
the null modem cable is female at both ends as if you had a pc with xp and serial port it would connect up fine,newer laptops dont have serial/rs232 ports and use the usb port with a usb 2.0 to serial [ male connector ] rs232 adapter cable joined to the null modem cable,all info on hitecks tut for flashing.
