it sounds like a problem at his end tell him to check keycode is set to on menu 1570 on remote keycode on exit out

Ok cheers mate, have sent him email telling him NOT to load the 1.12 incase its a clone. I saw a thread here somewhere telling how to tell difference so will check that out.
Also told him to check 1570 b4 loading new firm

Hi I've got a Starview 4 on way as I type this, but from reading all the posts I'm a little confused and need some advice on whats best fw to download. Is it best to put 1.07 or 1.12 on it? Im in UK on N*L.

Also when using the box do you need to keep the USB stick in the box at all times or is it only needed when recording?

As of the 17/08/'09 looks like N*L areas of Ireland have started to shift over to Nagra 3 and this firmware does not clear N3 channels.

My dad has a Box Super USB, but we don't have a usb stick. We tried resetting the box but were not getting any channels other than BBC 1 etc.. All we get is a blank screen for anything else! Help??

you'll probably need to change the key codes. And if thats what you meant by resetting it.. you'll need to reset the emu too.
I don't know Jack about that box, but you may need a firmware update if the keys are not resetting themselves.

And no, it usually doesn't take long to get a reply.

And get a stick!! the cost pennies nowadays!

Alot of people have said about the EMU, but where is it?? how can i reset it ? and whats firmware ? I also dont know anything about the box!! Were going to get a stick today

Hi, i live in newcastle and have just bought the starview 4 usb box, would you advise installing firmware 1.07 or installing the most recent software, just a little confused reading through all the posts, thanks in advance

Read up on it then! I don't know about that box, but on a sv2 I think its menu, then 1570 to get to your menu where the emu is. On my PVR starview I think it is 2007 I type in.
Read up mate.

I aren't trying to be funny, but everything is within these forums mate, read up, and make notes. You'll be surprised and proud of yourself when you do it. I burnt many a candle at both ends studying. I had 3 different boxes to do.
