I make more money out of the Satellite boxes like the DM800, Blade7000 or TM5402. I make more out of the Kryptview as well - so following your logic I would push the Satellite boxes or the KV and slag off the SV

well following my logic.. if someone had a certain box that wasnt selling due to forums like this advising people against buying then it would be in their interest to PUSH the low seller.

Are you serious? Push something with the lowest margin at the expense of something with a higher margin.

If i wasn't totally neutral and only interested in making cash, then I would push the KV for cable and especially Sat boxes.

Unlike some, I have no axe to grind and am not interested in Trolling. Any advice I give is neutral and accurate to the best of my knowledge

Still some channels missing for quite a while now?! Stuff like music channel "Viva" for example which shows South Park! Come on Starview get it sorted!

I have checked a box today and the server is working well, there is not 100% channel coverage (currently around 90% are on) but the channels that are on are rock solid and not glitching. If you are getting Glitching, I suggest that you check your signal quality.

Looks like the titanic must have been raised then, most of the missing channels are back.

Now Sky Sports 1 is not on, so much for looking forward to the cricket! Fair enough this was working before, however as mentioned alot of been on "scrambled" for months now.

i am a sv user, and such can say that the box itself probably aint that bad, but sv support is ~~~~in awful.people still come here for sv info and not to a dedicated site, as far as i know there isnt one. please tell me if there is. the last sv site i knew of wasnt particularly well known, and then went tits up.
channels where on and off like indicators on cars and dont get me started on the 'subscription' rip off when everyones anniverasry was changed and your box was switched off until you paid more money.
their servers obviously cant cope when the footy etc is on. and why do so many people come here EVERYDAY asking for help cos their sv box is off.
as for sat servers, this time last year i knew nothing about sv and other boxes etc. and following information from a sat receiver supplier, such as yourself, i was advised to buy a sv 7 and given DK as a place to find the firmware etc. within 6 weeks of purchasing my sv i knew of other ways of receiving. all in all within say 3 months of knowing nothing i knew where and how to receive sat for just about free. buy a boix and no subscriptions, so sat really isnt that expensive. if you can be arsed doing some research and a bit of work yourself. or you can sit on your arse and pay someone a wedge and do it all for you.

sv is crap, and i can say this based on around a dozen folk i know and my own personal experiances, along with everyone else who comes on this and other forums.

Well cant really argue with some points mentioned by Mick. Yes I paid for the sub and at the beginning was happy, as times gone on, losing channels and as mentioned in footy matches etc, it is off more then on due to the constant scrammed messages, i.e Manchester United vs Liverpool this sunday, is highly likely to suffer glitching. I hope stuff gets sorted more importantly missing channels back again and the scrammbled messages to be rectified. Not complaining I'am glad ive paid for sub and its worth it, compared to other options. Just things could be a whole lot better.

hey rob619, dont be fooled by the sat route being expensive, it isnt.
a little research will get you all sat channels for around the same kind if money as SV 7.
much more reliable.

I have plenty to lose by talking up a box with the smaller profit over boxes with higher profit, if you can't see that, there is no helping you.

As for people not asking for help on the mystarview forum but coming here instead, surely you don't think that I can control what forum people use to ask for advice.

You mention a "subscription" Rip-Off with boxes switched off early. To my knowledge not one subscribed box has been switched off early. There were many boxes on the free non-subscription trial that displayed the wrong date and got switched off before the date initially displayed, but they were not subscription boxes. Are you saying that the new mystarview team should not have given any free viewing?

There are many people even on this forum and some in this thread that say there SV box is working OK, I will probably be accused of bribing them next!

I have said many times that Satellite is better than Cable but the premium servers are usually more expensive. You claim to be able to receive sat for "Just about free", sure you can get FTA channels for little outlay but a full pack is a lot more than what I would consider "Just about free", even if a group of 20 get together and share the cost of a full Sky Sub, ESPN, Asian Package, Setanta, Premier and other channels. In any case, I would rather sell a DM800 or a TM5402 than a Starview7

open on spiderbox on several satellite channels , but sport tv liga inglesi on 30 west hispasat looks favourite , HD , ENGLISH , and no subs on spiders !!

Mick, I have had my starview back up and running for a few months now, I posted here some time ago about it. In all that time apart from a few channels being off, that are of no interest to me, and the odd (and by that I mean very rare) disruption to services for 20 or 30 mins a time, the service has been pretty faultless.

Now, you mention in this post and a previous one that you know about a dozen people personally who are having problems with their service, and I quote "but im sick of it all now. caused problems with my friends and family who bought SV7 boxes on my say so", and here "as for friends and family, i cannot put a timescale on theirs, but from the grief i get i can tell you they are shite".

In my opinion most problems of this nature are caused by something which nobody wants to hear, the dreaded "user error". Your no different. You don't get it do you? The only thing that your friends and family and their starview boxes seem to have in common is YOU. You are who Anne Robinson keeps refering to, don't you see that?

Instead of moaning and groaning try doing some research into what can improve signal qualities, ping times and general good house keeping practices as far as networking is concerned. Man up and admit your problems/shortcomings so that people can at least offer you the chance to put it right and learn something along the way into the bargain.

Btw, this sort of stuff can equally affect satellite owners/users as well as cable, so a glance at threads of that nature should be of equal relevance.

@ lincsat...you should know fine well by now that there are some people who offer no constructive input in areas where they lack either the necessary knowledge or interest to do so but instead continue to peddle false information because of ignorance. Don't draw yourself in. Perhaps when the mods responsible for this section come back from their apparent sabbatical they will resume their work here? Or maybe not.

but I am thinking of buying an sv7 and have no problem with paying subs for "the free gift"
after all what is free in this world
