Im an absolute newb to all of this so bear with me!
Was given this SV7 box as a gift from my cousin who also mentioned that he will pay a fee per month (which im guessing is what you call subs). For the first month i couldnt get many channels and was scanning for the life of me. Then one day i removed the ethernet cable, began to scan and reinserted it........ this worked and i had all the channels!!
Untill recently, all the movie channels have gone which boggled me so i decided to rescan using auto search which was a mistake as it made it worse (back to square one). I tried the ethernet cable trick and nothing happened, each time i scanned i exited and entered 1819 and still nothing.
Im not clued up on the QAM and frequency which i think may be the problem (i dont know tbh).
I will update later with what QAM is it (im 99% sure its 64).
I have rebooted the box, factory reset the box, rebooted the modem and rescanned loadsa times and nothing has made a difference
My ISP is V****n, im located in worcestershire and my setup is this:
cable into a splitter -> one into a modem and the other into the box. The ethernet cable is in port 1 and goes into the box, the are both next to each other too.
Am i able to still scan if i removed the splitter and just have the main white cable into the box? this means i wont have internet untill i put the splitter in and i though the box runs off the internet?
