My HD Combo keeps switching off for no reason. its running on spiderbox and seems to worse on hd channels.
any ideas?
Mines still running on Carling...... And that has started switching off - it's worse when watching footie on HD channels. I also lose the sound a lot, thinking of replacing the box or updating the firmware.
wondering on an old box if any caps are suspect inside.
Mine switch off 5 times yesterday within 20 mintues so opened the box tonight and 1 of the caps a 470uf 10v has bowed on the power board, I have already ordered some of Ebay tonight so will fixing it as soon they arrive.

Let me know how u get on....... This maybe something I need to do.
I 'm not sure exactly what you mean but think its something like a dry joint on the circuit board - is that right?.

I replaced C21 cap as it appeared to have swelled at the top, plugged the box back in....... Still rebooting the box and losing the sound!
I have noticed that this happens when watching HD or premium channel- maybe I need to update the firmware, last updated 2010.
There's Isn't really any new firmware out there for the Combo apart from Bytemasters I was bored one day conversion to a spiderbox. So updating the firmware can't be done.
