starview 2 update failed jelp please

when you have had a bad flash you will see the percentage on the loader but will only see the green line on the box.
have you only got the null modem and power cables connected to your box (everything else needs to be disconnected)
and are you only ticking the app file only box in the gtrom loader

i have stview 2 connected to pc with null modemcable using com port 1 using loader v 4.03 and the box 4.54 as an image. do you live near burnley by any chance ?

Try replacing your RS232 lead with a new 1

ALSO if u r using VISTA it wont work u need an XP comp

IF u have AVG anti virus disable it b4 u do your download

they are a few probs that i know of in the past....try all them if still no joy come bak

no I don't come from near Burnley (thought my name might have been a giveaway to my location)
I'm grasping at straws now but unhook from internet etc. and disable any running programs like firewall/antivirus
apart from that it may have to be perseverence

i have heard that the loader aint compatable with vista.........can u try a comp with XP on it

I can assure you I have no problems using that loader on Vista (I have SV2 and max v)

EDIT : but if he can get access to xp its worth a shout as I think we've exhausted nearly everything else

i have just gone onto device manager then clicked on ports then com port properties then when i clicked on advanced settings it said you must have writ privileges in the registry in order to modify the device settings ? whats that mean

i uninstalled the com port reinstalled it now i can change the ports on it. im gonna try ports 1 to 4 and also try it with and without fifo buffer

hi gazza i downloaded the firmware and the loader opended it up selected correct image clicked download progress bar got to 100% said flash burning for about 1 minute then said flash update fail retry or cancel.
