i bought it off ebay and the guy that was selling it said it had green line on display. i read around on net and i thought it just had a a bad flash and i could reflash it. but its not turning out so straight forward as i tought

theres no display on tv mate just black screen. when i plug scart lead into it tv automatically goes onto av1 so there is something there. would i be able to jtag it what programs would i need etc thank you everybody for your help .Comment

got an email of the guy i bought it from he said i tried to update the box with
latest firmware 802E. this is for starview 3 so could this have bricked the box ?Comment

i have 7 rows of 25 vents that smeans its a genuine box doesnt it?. i have tried flashing all files from 4 to 4.57 and everytime it says flash update failed. surely the files would still flash onto the box but it just wont work correctly. also is there anybody in leeds that could jtag it for me im willing to payComment

had a look id prefer someone else to to do it for me tbh im not lazy just it seems a bit fiddly and i have the touch of an elephant knowing me id make a mess of the soldering . but would that work on a starview 2 or is it just for starview 1? cheers mate

i have me own soldering iron n stuff but i dont wanna screw box up more than it is. ill see if i can get someone to sort it tommorrow if not looks like ill be having fun. ill keep everyone posted with updates cheers

just been to maplins in leeds bought d-sub 25 way plug , d-sub hood 25 way 5 100ohm resistors and a 1000uf capacitor in case thats screwed inside. im gonna try n make my own jtag . is the files needed to recover my box different or are they all the same for the starviews?
