look in through vents do u see a heatsink on chip ,thats a clone,read back a number of posts for answer.sorry to say u will not get a clone to work in irl on n*l,as you need v1.10 which is a clone killer,fixed boxes will only work in uk on older firmware v.1.07

Yeah no heat sink,this box is not a clone,what my cousin is telling me is that there are no lights at all coming on,would he have blown a fuse in the box ?

On another forum I see a number of episodes of this sort with the 'invalid box' warning and the box then dying. This is happening in the UK now and with genuine models, is this something that needs to be looked into. Are VM rolling out some sort of malicious coding that is killing these boxes?!!!

the exact same happend to my box.. invalid box turn off and back on... dead. not a clone no heatsink. tried a max232 on it but it doesn't flash. i orderd mine from dvb-shop used the contact feature on the site but had no reply back yet.

the max232 can only be used with serial port and xp as it will not work off usb i believe

yup i used the max232 with xp and serial port but the max232 works work with vista as well coz i used to do the modem scene with vista worked fine but even with xp gtrom didn't pick up the box. any way i think we are either going to have to use new software for reflashing them or jtag it. but dvb-shop got back in touch with me asking for my order number and date of purchase and serial number from the box.. said when i give him these he will give me further instructions. so just waiting on another reply now

Any update

Is there any update for jtag on SV4. I have the interface but nothing happens with loader. It's a genuine box.

My box has stopped working, so need to check if it is a clone before updating, it came from ebay so i suspect ill be buying a new box, thanks for this info
