although it says dec, will it still show up as 30thnov2008 in the sytem info box. Ive reflashed eurovox new firmware in the past and even tho it as been latest and worked,,sometimes the dates have been (confusingly)a year before.

yes this happens but he has the old 8.02 f/w which will not au the codes it was very conflicting f/w the 8.02 as the box super has a 8.02
he will have to manually update the codes as the 4.57 will au
but his problem lies with the signal to strong/to weak he must be happy manually update the codes but needs espn as i do

duh,,, thanks you two, didnt twig the 4.57 and 8.02 connection. I was thinking something higher not lower.

i tried the sv2 on my connection,,and it worked a treat didnt re flash , just thought id try it first. took it back to friends house and everytime i tried espn, it went haywire, i had to turn box off and on to reset,,upto,i ve told him to use it and avoid espn and classic

you could always try a manual scan on that channel m8...

i did maca,,a few times,, i also did a direct connection,like you advised,and it was ok,for a few mins ,then it went blank but sound was on,,the logo went black with justa red stripe of the x,,i had to turn on and off,,tried changing leads,,still no luck with espn tho
