The FAQ on the website are useless, the site looks like its changed from html to php so the majority of the links return a 404 page not found error. This is easily resolved by chaging the html extension to php though.

There is no software download section so can not see how to get this fixed.

It would work great if I could remove the write protection on the usb stick.

If anyone knows how I can get this done then please let me know

    cheers

        Hi dessertdog
Not sure if you have read the last few posts on the first page but if not then I was referring to the MicroRiver usb stick that I have. Its some smart biometric protected usb stick that opens with finger print detection or by entering a password. Dont know how I got hold of it but its the only usb stick that I have.

I uploaded the firmware to it and whacked it in the back of the SV5 box but it wouldn't allow it access. So I formatted the usb stick and now it wont let me put any files on it because its locked itself into write protected mode and the biometric recognition software has also been removed. Another forum member pointed me to their site which lead to a FAQ's page. I didnt have any luck there and the software section didnt have any software.

Enough of that, I'll just go down to the local PC world and get one from there as i cant be doing with a SV5 box sitting in my living room waiting for a usb stick to arrive in royal mails snail mail system. It could take weeks in the post if I ordered one from ebay due to the xmas and new year rush.

hmm!!, its not that I cant afford it Boomer its just that I think rationally and if I've got a usb stick at home I will try and figure out how to use it before I commit myself to buying 1, regardless of what the price is.

Tomorrow is the closest I will get to going to the shop and picking one up. So I had time on my hands to try and figure the usb stick out. As my previous post states I have decided to go to the local pc world and pick a simple one up tomorrow.

Not too sure how you was put under the impression that I couldn't afford it. Besides if you did send me one then as the previous post mentions that I dont want to be waiting around for slow postal services and delays due to the festive season so even if you did offer I would have declined.

            Thanks anyway

Good to see the Christmas spirit

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but sure the SV5 firmware is V2.03
