    Chorus Cork in England? (SV4)

    Hi All,

A friend of mine has a Starview 4/Box Super USB box running firmware version 1.12 (older firmware was the same though).

When he does an automatic scan, the only option that will find any channels is Chorus Cork which means that you get Irish channels instead of the likes of ITV2 etc. The normal service in Nottingham was NTL before Virgin Media took over but if you select this, TW, Ex C&W or Chorus it finds nothing.

Is there a way to manually add the correct channels or get the NTL option to find anything?

    Thanks

I presume you have used the right/left arrow on the remote when choosing provider

Not used the right and left keys at all. The instructions just say select your provider which he's done using up/down then press ok and wait for a scan. Only chorus cork finds any channels.

The others are listed and you can select them but they find no channels. Only chorus cork actually has channel data.

I think the first thing to do is a factory reset (code0000) and try a rescan

Tried that on several firmware versions from 1.07 upwards but still get the same problem. Cheers for the idea though.

This is something I have never come across before.
You have done factory reset and put new firmware on.
When you are doing the scan on NTL do you get any channels showing up in the menu box whilst its scanning and does it reach 100% on the line at the bottom of the box

Not tried that a manual scan yet but I'm not sure if it will find anything different.

The box is in the UK and not Ireland. It's strange to be getting Ulster when it should be the Midlands

The box has had 1.07, 1.10 and now 1.12. Every time the box has been reset to factory defaults.

If you scan the NTHell no channel names appear and the bar reaches 100% followed by a nothing found message.

How do I find out? Will it make a difference?

If you are in Nottingham as said earlier yes you are in an exNTL area. Smallworld services Ayrshire and surrounding areas and is currently utilising NDS Videogaurd Express.

Sounds like a corrupt flash and the TSOP may have been corrupted also given that you have not solved it by a reflash, factory reset and rescan.

However have him try it somewhere else to rule out a problem from his feed before looking for it to be covered under warranty.
